Tomas Jamett, MBA

Originally from Chile, Tomas moved to the US on his own at the age of 17 with a full academic and athletic scholarship to finish his last year of high school at South Kent School in Connecticut. His decision to move to a new country to further his education was not based on desire, but on necessity. Unfortunately, in Chile you cannot study and be an athlete at the highest level simultaneously. Tomas had to decline a professional contract from the biggest soccer club in Chile in order to continue his academic career, and later pursue higher education. Even though becoming a professional soccer player was his dream - having a higher education was his priority.  Due to his great achievements on and off the field, he was offered several scholarships to play Division 1 College Soccer. After careful consideration, he decided to attend Iona University, also on a full ride. Iona gave him the chance to continue to play at the highest level, to meet his wife Emily, and to become immersed in the financial world.

Due to Iona's proximity to Manhattan, their recognized business school, and Alumni Network - Tomas had the chance to gain real business and world experience. Throughout his college career, he was recruited and participated in four highly selective internships: Microsoft, Equitable Advisors, Forest Hills Financial Group, and Creative Financial Planning.

Tomas completed his undergraduate degree at Iona College, getting a Double Major in Finance and Business Administration. With a GPA of 3.892, he graduated with honors and received the Magna Cum Laude accolade. Not satisfied, he decided to go back to Iona for another year to receive his Financial Management MBA. With a GPA of 3.945, Tomas graduated with honors, and received the Department Medal and Merit Scholar Accolades.

After Graduating from his MBA, he accepted an offer from Creative Financial Planning to be a Wealth Management Analyst. Being at a boutique firm has allowed him to learn directly from the Senior Management. The hands-on experience helped him to pass the Series 65 exam, and register as an Authorized Trader.
